LGBT Gay Weddings Maui

This week we had the opportunity to ring in the New Year with a double LGBT wedding on the shores of Kapalua Bay. A nice cool morning kept everyone comfortable and the beach goers were nowhere to be seen. Reverend Diana George officiated the ceremonies and Christie & Jennifer got married along with their best friends Cassie and Catherine. Since the Hawaii legislature formally legalized gay marriage in Hawaii in December 2013, Marry Me Maui Wedding Planners has performed several LGBT weddings and we have been performing civil unions since 2012. Most of our Maui Wedding ceremonie s last about 15 minutes; short and sweet. 15 or 20 minutes for your photographer to capture something that happens once in your lifetime. Not to put too much pressure on the wedding couple, but the beauty of your Maui wedding images depend not only on the professionalism of your photographer, but also by your facial expressions, relaxed attitude and eye contact with each other and the camera. Maui Beach Weddings Question: What about the weather?

"What do we do in case of rain?" is something we hear very often. Marry Me Maui does about 200 weddings per year. Most of them are beach weddings at various locations around the island. We try to keep the locations near our clients' accommodations but sometimes that's not possible because either the beach is not suitable for a wedding, there's no parking or the beach might be off limits by law (Kaanapali Beach). We are required to pull permits from the state for every beach wedding and they allow us 2 locations. This is usually sufficient to avoid a rain-out in cases of inclement weather. Kapalua Bay Maui is home to 10 of the 13 "life zones" on planet earth and also host various micro-climates. The weather in Kapalua can be vastly different than the weather in Lahaina only 7 miles away. Indeed, we have seen rain at DT Fleming and none at Kapalua Bay less than 1 mile away.
