Maui Wedding Planning and Photography at Makena Maui Wedding Beaches

Sabrina and Jesus enjoyed a beautiful late afternoon Maui wedding ceremony at Poolenalena beach in Makena with Marry Me Maui Wedding Plannes. Our good friend Charles Nahale officiated the event and played some chicken skin music on his ukulele. Poolenalena (Chang's beach) is a huge swath of sand and ocean in spectacular Makena, the "south side" of Maui. Some of the best wedding beaches in Maui are located here and we know them all! From White Rock, and Paipu, to Makena Cove, Marry Me Maui has performed hundreds of weddings at all of them. Some of these beaches are small and intimate, best for just the couple and maybe 3 guests and some are very large and wide with plenty of room for up to 30 people. As always, parking on Maui's pristine beaches is limited so please carpool!

Sabrina and Jesus had almost the entire beach to themselves on this cool and breezy Wednesday afternoon. We want to thank them for a beautiful afternoon doing what we love to do!

Eye contact. That's our tip for couples today. Nothing is more important than eye contact for those memorable wedding photos. Most of our Maui Wedding ceremonie s last about 15 minutes; short and sweet. 15 or 20 minutes for your photographer to capture something that happens once in your lifetime. Not to put too much pressure on the wedding couple, but the beauty of your Maui wedding images depend not only on the professionalism of your photographer, but also by your facial expressions, relaxed attitude and eye contact with each other and the camera. Maui Beach Weddings Question: What about the weather?

"What do we do in case of rain?" is something we hear very often. Marry Me Maui does about 200 weddings per year. Most of them are beach weddings at various locations around the island. We try to keep the locations near our clients' accommodations but sometimes that's not possible because either the beach is not suitable for a wedding, there's no parking or the beach might be off limits by law (Kaanapali Beach). We are required to pull permits from the state for every beach wedding and they allow us 2 locations. This is usually sufficient to avoid a rain-out in cases of inclement weather. Kapalua Bay Maui is home to 10 of the 13 "life zones" on planet earth and also host various micro-climates. The weather in Kapalua can be vastly different than the weather in Lahaina only 7 miles away. Indeed, we have seen rain at DT Fleming and none at Kapalua Bay less than 1 mile away.
