Emma and YonSoo. A Maui Wedding at Kapalua Bay Beach

We seem to spend a lot of time at Kapalua Bay! This time it was with Emma and Yonsoo and a few family members celebrating their wedding with Rev. Ernest Pua'a leading the festivities and strumming some beautiful Hawaiian music on his ukulele. Emma chose one of our larger Maui Wedding Packages opting for an additional hour of Maui Photography along with a dvd slideshow. We started the shoot in Emma's room at the Royal Lahaina and then headed out to Kapalua Bay for the ceremony, about a 15 minute drive. State law prevents us from holding any weddings or photo shoots on Kaanapali Beach, where the Royal Lahaina sits, so Kapalua is the best and closest alternative. The 2 hour wedding package, Island Dreams, is perfect for a small group, especially if you are interested in getting some of those in room, pre-wedding images and the high resolution dvd slideshow with music that you can play on the widescreen at home for friends and family who couldn't be with you on your special day in Maui. It also allows us some extra time and keeps the pace nice and relaxed. Thanks Emma and Yonsoo, we had a wonderful time with you. A Hui Hou!

Eye contact. That's our tip for couples today. Nothing is more important than eye contact for those memorable wedding photos. Most of our Maui Wedding ceremonie s last about 15 minutes; short and sweet. 15 or 20 minutes for your photographer to capture something that happens once in your lifetime. Not to put too much pressure on the wedding couple, but the beauty of your Maui wedding images depend not only on the professionalism of your photographer, but also by your facial expressions, relaxed attitude and eye contact with each other and the camera. Maui Beach Weddings Question: What about the weather?

"What do we do in case of rain?" is something we hear very often. Marry Me Maui does about 200 weddings per year. Most of them are beach weddings at various locations around the island. We try to keep the locations near our clients' accommodations but sometimes that's not possible because either the beach is not suitable for a wedding, there's no parking or the beach might be off limits by law (Kaanapali Beach). We are required to pull permits from the state for every beach wedding and they allow us 2 locations. This is usually sufficient to avoid a rain-out in cases of inclement weather. Kapalua Bay Maui is home to 10 of the 13 "life zones" on planet earth and also host various micro-climates. The weather in Kapalua can be vastly different than the weather in Lahaina only 7 miles away. Indeed, we have seen rain at DT Fleming and none at Kapalua Bay less than 1 mile away.
